Monday 15th November – walk *** – Landguard Circuit – Grey, dull,
depressing day.
What a dull, grey and depressing day here in Felixstowe, Mag had her third
covid jab then went shopping to Lidl while I did my exercises. Then after
dinner we forced ourselves out even though the weather was not very
inspiring! We drove down to Landguard and did our circuit of the nature
reserve. The only good thing you can say was it was nice and quiet with
loads of bunnies too. We did the view point watching the container ships
being unloaded although there was only three ships in. The tide was also
low and the sea like a mill pool in the light airs as we walked along the
River Orwell to the old pier. Here we had the highlight of a walk when we
spotted a Purple Sandpiper feeding on the seaweed, sadly the two pics I got
were not very sharp:( We sat and watched a little survey boat turn and head
back up river before heading back across the reserve with a few wagtails.
Another lightwind day tomorrow before a run of westerlies arrive but then
turning north with the temperature dropping! So hope to get some foiling
in:)
